Domaine Damien Lorieux

Located just East of the town of Bourgueil, Domaine Lorieux continues the tradition of 3 generations in the family.  Lucien Lorieux began in 1976 with two hectares of vines expanding to reach 12 hectares by 2004.

In the land where Cabernet Franc is king on the gentle slopes of the Loire River's right (northern) bank, the vineyards are comprised of two differing terroir:  Clay and limestone slopes (where the Tuffeaux is grown)  and  Gravel terraces (vines for the Graviers). Damien now operates a one hectare plot on the AOC Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil. Located in the Bois the vaux sector, the sandy/gravely terroir
leads to light to medium bodied wines, very elegant and enjoyable from first summer after harvest.

After completing school in Bordeaux and learning other methodologies from New World experiences, Damien now combines modern techniques and respect for tradition.
