Le Mas des Flauzières

The Mas des Flauzières is a 34 Ha estate which originally belonged to the Château d'Entrechaux during the Middle Ages. An established property at the "feet of Provence giant" -  Le Mont Ventoux - and nearby Vaison-la-Romaine, the vineyards have been owned by the BENOIT family since the end of 19th century.

After agronomy and oenology studies, the current generation proprietor, Jérôme Benoit, decided to expand the vineyards beginning in 2002. The domain covers a total of 34 ha -  Gigondas 12 ha., Vacqueyras 0,5 ha., Séguret 3,5 ha., Cotes du Rhone Village 1 ha., Cotes du Ventoux 15 ha. and Vin du Pays 3 ha -  located on hillsides and terraces of Dentelles de Montmirail, on chalky and clayed soils.

Grape varieties : 70% grenache (age 15-70 years), 20 % syrah (age 15-30 years) and 10% mourvèdre (age 15-30 years).  The wines stem from a traditional vinification of hand-harvested grapes of grenache, syrah and mourvedre vinified separately with averaging 21 day maceration period followed by ageing in vats and/or barrels-   Four Danuga demi-muid and new French oak 12 to 18 months for La Grande Réserve and Terra Rosso respectively.
